Medical Service at Your Convenience
Barbara is a Licensed Nurse Practitioner of 6 years. She is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She started her nursing career 28 years ago as a licensed practical nurse in 1996. She later attained her Associate of Science in Nursing in 2001 from Florida Community College at Jacksonville. In 2009, she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from South University and went on to pursue her master’s in nursing from a nearby university. She worked in various settings and worked with various ages during her years working as a nurse. She has a passion for providing compassionate and quality care. She first worked in long-term care before pursuing working in neonatal intensive care unit as a nurse from 1998-2020. She worked in Correctional Nursing from 2003-2014.
After a few years of working as a registered nurse, Barbara decided she wanted to invest in nursing education. She worked as an adjunct licensed practical nurse clinical instructor from 2008-2011 at a community college. She later worked as a case management nurse from 2011-2019 before starting her journey as an advance practice registered nurse. Before starting her mobile practice in 2022, Barbara performed in-home risk assessments as a mobile nurse practitioner and virtual risk assessments for home-bound/home-limited patient population for an insurance company from 2019-2022. Barbara worked as a primary care and urgent care nurse practitioner in corrections from 2022-2023.
She currently works two days a week at a homeless shelter on the mobile health unit as a primary care provider with clients who are commonly disconnected from existing services in the community such as a mental health center and an inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation center. She also cross-covers in their pediatric office and in local high schools as needed.
Her mobile service removes the barriers of transportation by bringing medical care to those in urgent need of services by restoring health, hope, and self-sufficiency. These gaps in care encouraged Barbara to pursue her full-service in-home primary care mobile service so she could develop a practice that integrates quality, effective treatment and patient-centered care. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys relaxing, online bargain shopping, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
